Today, Valser’s CIPTA workshop had the privilege of hosting Iain Somerville from Imtex Controls Ltd. for an in-depth training session on their latest Valvescan products and technologies.

Type V Smart Controller – this is a unit targeted at allowing verification testing of valves that are safety critical (e.g. ESDVs) without having to make significant infrastructure changes or taking the process ‘offline’. The unit sits on top of a valve assembly in place of a conventional switchbox and enables tests (such as Partial Stroke, Full Stroke and Solenoid) to be performed on the valve via the solenoid.

The device is smart, so in logs signatures during the tests that can be compared to bench-line tests to see deviation but also incredibly practical to install in both greenfield and retrofit applications and works on actuated valves in a common way, regardless of their size or the operating media of the actuator.
